He's With Me!
This is a subtitle for your new post

SPEAKER:
Bishop/Dr. Robert A. Merriwether, Sr.
SCRIPTURE:
Psalm 139:1-8
Our dear pastor is the type that can shake the gates of Hell and set up the kingdom of Heaven upon Earth!” (Matthew 16:18). Today’s sermon proved that via the Word of God & the anointing! “O lord, thou hast searched me, and known me. Thou knowest my down sitting and mine uprising, thou understandest my thought afar off. Thou compassest my path and my lying down and art acquainted with all my ways. For there is not a word in my tongue, but, lo, O Lord, thou knowest it altogether. Thou hast beset me behind and before, and laid Thine hand upon me. Such knowledge is too wonderful for me; it is high, I cannot attain unto it…”
This psalm poetically explains God’s immense power and knowledge! In this case, David focuses on God’s omnipresence; one would find Him currently in heaven and even in Sheol. For believers, the greatest prospect of The Great Beyond is entering the presence of the Lord! Paul was unafraid of death. He viewed it as an escort into the presence of Christ! The son of Jesse declared that Thou has searched me! Analogies: The police can asked the driver “Can I inspect your vehicle? Parents can search your phone and one can be checked when you go through security, etc. The Lord has and can also examine people! We may hide from our children, parents, loved-ones or whoever. but you can’t run from God!
It can be dangerous to have information about a person as well as beneficial! Understanding one's personality can lead to better stress management, stronger relationships, and effective handling of adversity, ultimately contributing to personal growth and well-being! The psalmist recognized God’s ability to know that his heart defined his life--showing the importance of a genuine relationship with the Creator! Granted, faith and obedience are the main sources to be drawn to Him! When we are born, the Almighty is aware of every detail regarding us! “Before I formed thee in the belly I knew thee; and before thou camest forth out of the womb, I sanctified thee, and I ordained thee a prophet unto the nations…”
Some things you can conceal from man but not The Omnipotent! He knows where every disguises are “tucked” away! Comparison: When cleaning dishes, you can miss a spot or overlook something that is stained! However, the Most High is cognizant of every individual acts. As noted in Matthew 10:32: “Whosoever therefore shall confess Me before men, him will I confess also before my Father which is in heaven.” You can wear yourself out trying to calculate or figure out things! “But even the very hairs of your head are all numbered! Fear not, therefore, ye are of more value than many sparrows.” Reiterating: “Thou knowest my down sitting and mine uprising, thou understandest my thought afar off.” The Bible says that our lives, which seem so well established and so important today, are really only like a fragile blade of grass! We may boast of our good health, exceptional strength and long years of sound life. But, our bodies which are active and energetic today, will one day lie cold and still! Like different people in the Bible, we all have inconsistencies. Nevertheless, God can manage every thought! He doesn’t get confused and even knows the number of our days. This psalm speaks of the pervasive appearance of the Revealer, and His intimate knowledge of us, which offer us an outsized measure of hope and comfort in the face of adversity and trial! Once more, He knows everyone’s movement, intentions and desires. When you comprehend who you are dealing with, you know how to handle the plight. Undeniably, the Alpha and Omega knows how to love, save, restore and forgive! He’s aware how to “rock you in the cradle of His arms.” “For there is not a word in my tongue, but, lo, O Lord, thou knowest it altogether.” Before there is a word (not sentence or paragraph), He’s familiar with what’s happening! In man’s case, people can be so close but the Messiah is the beginning and ending! He well acquainted with our words, tongue & heart! Nothing isn’t uttered that he can’t interpret! “O generation of vipers, how can ye, being evil, speak good things? For out of the abundance of the heart the mouth speaketh.” (Matthew 12:34).
Jeremiah 17:9 indicates: “The heart is deceitful above all things, and desperately wicked: who can know it? What a person says is usually what he/she meant. James 1:19 emphasizes: “Wherefore, my beloved brethren, let every man be swift to hear, slow to speak, slow to wrath…” The Chosen One gave us two ears and one mouth; two eyes; a heart & every part of the body. He weighs what comes from your heart—not your tongue! Let us surrender our all to Him! On the day of Pentecost, they were pricked in their heart. That tongue-talking came from the inner being! Repeat: “Thou hast beset me behind and before, and laid Thine hand upon me.” If God be for us, who can be against us?” He has me in the palm of His hands! So glad that He has covered me! Like sheep, He was oppressed, and he was afflicted, yet He opened not His mouth: He is brought as a lamb to the slaughter, and as a sheep before her shearers is dumb, so He openeth not His mouth.
Mankind can be like sheep: They’re not the smartest, and they can’t defend themselves. St. John 10:28 specifies: “And I give unto them eternal life; and they shall never perish, neither shall any man pluck them out of my hand.” A sheep needs a shepherd to protect them! They don’t have claws, porcupine needles; they can’t fly or get away! A dog barks, a cat meows; a lion growls, etc. The best a sheep can do is say “ "baa" - "baa"!” Metaphor: Let us depend on the Healer/Provider for oppression, cancer, depression, finances, etc. As quoted in Psalm 23: The Lord is my Shepherd, I shall not want…” Also Psalm 139:6: Such knowledge is too wonderful for me; It is high, I cannot attain it…”
Jesus died for us. He looked beyond my faults and saw my needs! Let His blood wipe away your situations! He is right here for us! He can eliminate hospitalization, Bells Palsy, children breaking the law, suicide, homicide, etc. Moreover, the Master Card, Capital One or any type of debt. Don’t throw in the towel! “The race is not given to the swift nor the battle to the strong but he that endureth until the end.” Also, “No weapon formed against me shall prosper.” “Though He slay me, yet will I trust Him. He will never leave nor forsake you. Whether you’re in the valley or on the mountain top, He is there to lead and guide. He never sleep nor slumber! Can’t get past hurdles, look unto the Author and Finisher of our faith!
It was He that woke us up this morning…not the alarm clock, workout regiment, music or whatever. Lord: I can’t pay you back but I will worship you! This is your chance! Life can be a heavy burden sometimes. No one understands the stress, weight that’s on my mind. He knows our thoughts from afar off! Kindly realize that peace is with you when God is present! Don’t lose your way, faith, mind! Lord, we honor, praise and worship You, despite the insecurities and mistakes that arise!
O God, you have assured us of traps, stumbling blocks, persecutions, trials and other hardships, but let us believe in You! We lift up our hearts, minds and souls to the Father! Folk: As mentioned, we want to walk in faith even through difficult times! With our Way Maker, we’re looking unto the hills from whence cometh our help; our help cometh from You, Lord, who made the heavens and the earth. Positively, the message regarding “dilemmas and deliverance” were words of hope, inspiration and was thought-provoking! “Thou, Lord, hast not forsaken them that seek Thee.” Psalm 9:10. We also honor 1st Lady, Shania (FLOTA) Merriwether, for her continued implementation of church assignments! Such dedication absolutely has the capacity to produce God-pleasing results!
