It's Not Coming Like You Expect

Today, we heard another anointing sermon from our leader, and it was a spiritual seed, quickened by the Holy Spirit, and it also conveyed thoughts of love and hope!
“Now, Naaman, captain of the host of the king of Syria, was a great man with his master and honorable, because by him, the Lord had given deliverance unto Syria. He was also mighty in valor, but was a leper.”
“So Naaman came with his horses and chariot and stood at the door of the house of Elisha; and, Elisha sent a messenger unto him, saying, Go and wash in Jordan seven times, and thy flesh shall come again to thee, and thou shalt be cleaned. But Naaman was wroth and went away and said: Behold, I thought he will surely come out to me, stand, call on the name of the LORD his God, strike his hand over the place and recover the
leper...Then went he down and dipped himself seven times in Jordan, according to the saying of the man of God: and his flesh came again like unto the flesh of a little child, and he was cleaned…”
The text reveals the sovereignty of God and how He operates in the affairs of men! It also helps us to gain enlightenment of how the Lord moves outside the predictable calculations of man!Psalm 31:19 says: “How great is your goodness which you have stored up for those who fear you…” Naaman was a highly decorated general! The Bible denotes that he was a good commander of the army of Syria. He was held in favor because of the victory that God brought him! Yet, he was a leper! Naaman's wife had a servant girl from Israel who said that a prophet there would be
able to heal him!
Based upon the words of Christ, He will bless whom He chooses! Man is not involved in His decision-making! Again, El Shaddai can distribute blessings to whom He selects! Matthew 5:45 states: “...for He maketh His sun to rise on the evil and on the good, and sendeth rain on the just
and unjust.” There is no separate sun nor rain. Exodus 33:19 asserts: “I will make all my goodness pass before you, and I will proclaim My name...I am He who grant mercy to whom I will.”
God can bless someone in “your face” until you get him/her out of your spirit! Pray for them who despitefully uses you! You can’t stop the Messiah from anointing or blessing someone!
As indicated, Naaman had prestige, power; a great position and social status! Thus, he was able to accomplish much except for his leprosy! There is a “But” in your life from leprosy (pain, offenses, anguish, torment, sin and suffering) and it takes Jehovah-Rapha to heal! Physically
speaking: As leprosy can eat away at the bone, so can the aforementioned consume you (naturally and spiritually)!
What do you do? I can’t find nor “steal” encouragement! Don’t wait for someone else to uplift you but be open to your issues! Why wait? I’m going to build myself up! David encouraged himself in the Lord! I’m going to text myself, pray, fast, walk, journalize and above all, trust God!
Even with Joshua, he was firm in his faith and courageous; he was willing to help others and was a man of prayer, sincere and humble! Hebrews 13:2 instructs us to show hospitality to strangers, “for thereby some have entertained angels unawares.” Be careful how you treat people—those you know and don’t know! The one you think is the least may be that person whom you may need in the future!
Companion statement: Be faithful in giving of your love, time, substances and services! Submit yourself to somebody! Have the liberty to serve those who are unfortunate or have less than you! Remember assisting folk can change your life!
Naaman didn’t like the looks of the Jordan waters because they were muddy and murky! Analogy: In God’s eyes, intended adversities are favorable! Also, “It is good that I was afflicted that I might learn Thy statutes.” Naaman needed God...a miracle! Your status, money, and position
aren’t enough! Where can I go but to the Lord!”
Your cleanness (overcoming) can come from something dirty! “For my thoughts are not your thoughts, neither are your ways my ways…” Don’t be a vain, strutting person (like a peacock), displaying vanity in behavior, dress, etc. Only the Lord can block your problems, heartaches and calamities! You got to “yield and kneel” before The Maker! One must be abased and surrender to Jehovah-Jireh!
Indeed, our clergyman (along with his beautiful wife, Lady Shania Merriwether) boldly steps forward as the Holy Spirit guide and equips him!
Many thanks to Sis. Jackie George for assisting me with these notes! I deeply appreciate not only her friendship but administrative skills as well!
