Sick In The Synagogue (Part 3)

Speaker:
Bishop Dr. Robert A. Merriwether, Sr.
Reference Text:
Luke 13:12, 13
Heaven came down and glory filled our souls as our pastor preached from every fiber in his being concerning the above theme!
“And when Jesus saw her, He called her to Him, and said unto her, Woman, thou art loosed from thine infirmity. He laid His hands on her and immediately she was made straight and glorified God.”
Our orator started off and asked the audience to tap themselves and to repeat: “The Lord is talking to me!” He alluded that part of the text was not only the lamed woman’s sickness but that she was called a daughter of Abraham!
It is plausible to say a discernment is realized that the devil is not done with us! Satan’ attempts are heightened and his passion is for us to be included in the kingdom of darkness! We must remember that we were born in sin and shaped in iniquity!
Matthew 12:43-45 declares: “When the unclean spirit is gone out of a man, he walketh through dry places, seeking rest, and findeth none. Then, he saith, I will return into my house from whence I came out; and when he is come, he findeth it empty, swept, and garnished.
Then goeth he, and taketh with himself seven other spirits more wicked than himself, and they enter in and dwell there: and the last state of that man is worse than the first. Even so shall it be also unto this wicked generation.”
The enemy will not let us go that easy! He’ll even use the tactic: “Dead or alive” — one way or another, I’m going to harass you! He is our spiritual “cookie!” Sometimes, diseases are often sent by the devil, through the permission of God for sins or other reasons.
Regarding technology, computer “cookies” are used for storing, maintaining and accessing any sort of data. Thus, don’t allow the adversary to store negativity in your heart to cause you to hurt, hate, sin, etc. He certainly knows how to advertise and use you! Even when God brings you out of something, recognize that the sinful nature is still there!
Before the introduction of the live contaminated Varicella Vaccine in 1995, approximately 4 million cases of it occurred annually in the United States, resulting in approximately 11,000 hospitalizations and 100 deaths!
The purpose for the vaccine shot was/is to help protect people by creating an immune response without the potential of severe illness!
Invite the Almighty to inoculate you from sin with the vaccine of His fear! The fear of God is not a friend of sin! Sin often begins when we listen to lies and believe the false promises that are made! Instead, let us not forget God’s promises which are truth/shield for us!
When plagued, the same infection can cause chickenpox! Once a person has chickenpox, the germ stays in their body! The virus can reactivate later in life and cause shingles! Like a vaccine is a protector, God is our safeguard as well—no matter what condition he/she is in!
As stated, if you had the chicken pots, that virus is still in you! The capacity to get shingles is always there! When wrestling with unpleasant things, the Word can counteract!
There is a “you” that you don’t know! Jeremiah 17:9 acknowledges: “The heart is deceitful above all things and desperately wicked; who can know it?” The Lord searches the heart, He tries the reins—even to give every man according to the fruit of his doings!
Repeat: Like the vaccine is inside of you, the heart has another heart (supreme consciousness) inside of you! The reality is I don’t know my true self! “Thou knowest my downsitting and mine uprising, thou understandest my thoughts afar off. Thou compassest my path and my lying down, and art acquainted with all my ways. For there is not a word in my tongue, but, lo, O Lord, thou knowest it altogether.”
I may not know myself but God is well aware! Jude 1:24-25 mentions: “Now unto Him that is able to keep you from falling and to present you faultless before the presence of His glory with exceeding joy; to the only wise God our Savior, be glory and majesty, dominion and power, both now and forever. Amen.”
Lord, keep me from falling and present me faultless! I have all these faults and shortcomings! Remove them because this sinful nature inside of us is controlling! However, God may decide not to abolish them so that they may serve as a “median” or means to desire/serve Him!
“For I know that in me (that is, my flesh,) dwelleth no good thing: for to will is present with me; but how to perform that which is good I find not. For the good that I would I do not: but the evil which I would not, that I do. Now, if I do that I would not, it is no more I that do it, but sin that dwelleth in me.
I find then a law, that, when I would do good, evil is present with me.”
“But I see another law in my members, warring against the law of my mind and bringing me into captivity to the law of sin which is in my members.” Romans 7:23.
Paul dealt with the deepness of himself. But, you must have the responsibility to be reliable! Saul was slain after the seed of bitterness/jealousy rose up in him! He should have known the importance to be true to himself! We have the option to go before the Lord and ask Him for liberation!
If you have offended someone, admit it that I’ve been offensive to God, family; the bishop, etc. Otherwise, you will never heal! Reiterating: Saul had a duty to be honest with his feelings! Peter did not want to receive the Apostle Paul! He wrote 14 epistles and Peter only 2. The latter should have admitted his weaknesses! Same with Samson, he needed help managing control of his flesh!
Yes, you may have a good resume’, perfect attendance, a prestige position, etc. Nevertheless, there is another resume’ that one doesn’t want to reveal! Come clean and confess that I was filthy, fornicating, a hypocrite; a “goody-two-shoe” individual—being prudish/self-righteous! What do you do when the other “you” don’t want to change?
Paul said that I will keep my body under subjection! Be honest with yourself—no one else but yourself! Being delivered, our emancipation is three-fold: Past, present and future! As asserted: “And when Jesus saw her, He called her to Him, and said unto her, Woman, thou art loosed from thine infirmity.” Jesus saw her, but she couldn’t see Him because of her condition!
The Lord sees your cry, hurt, pain, disappointment, frustrations, betrayals, et al. He heard what they said about you! He saw how they abused you! It had to transpire so that God could intercede! He had to expose your weaknesses, agenda, so that He can be God in your life!
Look! It was her condition to put her in that position—experience Jesus! Turn your situations over to the Good Shepherd! He not only saw the crippled woman but He did something about it! This preserver did not have no opinion but a solution! Ad libbing: Woman thou are no longer bound but instantly made whole! He laid His hands on her!
She went from 18 years to IMMEDIATELY! Be encouraged for it is not how long ago it begun but it was done promptly! God doesn’t need no 12-step program! Do you believe that it (deliverance) can happen rapidly? He certainly can restore your child, heal, rescue, open doors, make a way, save, etc. So much be stacked up against you? He can do it “right now!”
How long have you been struggling/battling? As emphasized, He can do it “on the spot!” That immediate faith gets immediate results! “Faith is the substance of things hope for and the evidence of things not seen!” It’s not next week, year or whenever, but NOW! Don’t wait until the battle is over but shout NOW!
Without hesitation, cancer cells can dry up; money comes; spouse returns; a bright future emerges; a breakthrough—all because of Jehovah-Jirah! You need truth, manifestation, joy, peace; new opportunities—immediately! No more hate but love, forgiveness, kindness, etc. “He that shall come will come and will not tarry.”
I’ve waited, cried, fasted and suffered long enough! Thus, I want revelation, clearance immediately! Luke 13:13 denotes: “And He laid His hands on her and immediately she was made straight and glorified God!” When you hear God, don’t doubt! Voiced in Ephesians 3:20: “Unto Him that is able, He is able to do exceedingly, abundantly above all that we can ask or think.”
“Weeping may endureth for a night but joy cometh in the morning.” “Let the words of my mouth and the meditation of my heart be acceptable in Thy sight, O Lord, my strength and my Redeemer.”
Indeed, the intensity of pastor’s message never waned as it was “oil of gladness,” dramatic and powerful! The subject, Sick in the Synagogue, was a sequel for three weeks (and something different each time) but such topic simply bore repeating!
In conjunction with aforementioned, we thank his beloved wife, 1st Lady FLOTA, for being a “Phenomenal Promoter” in God’s vineyard!
