No Better Time Than Now

Psalm 34:1
With the voice of triumph and a confident stance, our own Eld. Zachary Humphrey proclaimed a clear and Christ-centered sermon on today! It was about blessing the Lord at all times! 1 Thessalonians 5:16-18 says: “Rejoice always, pray continually, give thanks in all circumstances; for this is God's will for you in Christ Jesus!”
“I will bless the Lord at all times; His praise shall continually be in my mouth. My soul shall make her boast in the Lord: the humble shall hear thereof and be glad. O magnify the Lord with me and let us exalt His name together!”
“I will” are essential words, referencing passionately for honoring/thanking God for His love, grace and mercies! Thus, we should always have a desire, look forward, can’t-wait attitude to advocate Him! It’s best to laud Him whether confronted with the good or bad!
Certainly, we want the Spirit of the Lord to reign in our household; when praying/worshipping! “...Choose you this day whom ye will serve; whether the gods which your fathers served that were on the other side of the flood, or the gods of the Amorites, in whose land ye dwell; but as for me and my house, we will serve the Lord.” Joshua 24:15.
If we’re not careful and prayerful, evil spirits will surface! Thus, it is imperative to earnestly seek the Lord; by doing so, you will be rewarded graciously! Having that aspiration to praise the Most High will allow you to have that “vine-branch” connection with Him! What is your name? Where do you come from? Why put yourself in this pain? Tell the Lord all about it!
Analogy: His children request a bag of hot/spicy chips! The very first, crunching bite has a much stronger taste and creates a palatable appetite for more! But, their taste-buds “tire quickly” after consuming so many! They put “taste over discomfort!”
Why put “taste” (drinking, drugs, fornication, etc.) over pain? Jehovah Rapha can heal mentally, physically and emotionally! But, we must acknowledge/celebrate Him! Granted, suffering can make us more resilient and allows us to endure hardships! “Oh taste and see that the Lord is good; blessed is the man who trust in Him.” Also, “Delight thyself in the Lord, and He shall give thee the desires of thine heart. Commit thy way unto the Lord; trust also in him…”
Everyone doesn’t want to bless the Lord nor invest in His will. Nevertheless, one can overcome pain(sickness, spouse, children, finance, addictions, etc.) but first, magnify His Holy Name! In life, unrest will come but remember: “For I reckon that the sufferings of this present time are not worthy to be compared with the glory which shall be revealed in us.” Romans 8:18-19.
Additionally, most people are expecting immediate results! But, I will bless the Lord at ALL times! When you say “Hallelujah,” you’re praising the Prince of Peace! Dissipate or immerge yourself in His glory!
For everything, there is a season and purpose for your time of deliverance! Yes, you’re hurting, uncomfortable, frustrated but it’s God’s timing! Having a yearning to praise God indicate that trouble will not last always!
We’re all going through something but when we lift up our hearts and hands in prayer, we know that God is on the case; at some point, it will end! Thereby, be consistent when praising Him!
There are people who don’t understand that out of the heart the mouth speak! When communing with Him, He can help you better understand your reason for living! Then, you and I can realize that He’s working on it; thereafter, we can sit back and relax! Repeat: My voice will say “Hallelujah” regardless of opposition! There’s no better time than NOW to gain new heights in Him!
David was a strong but unassuming shepherd who became God's choice to replace Saul as king of Israel. He was humble yet self-possessed, readily dismissing human opinion. His meekness became vivid early in his youth, when he killed the giant Goliath with a sling stone!
When David pretended to be insane before Abimelek, who drove him away, he orally attest: “I will extol the LORD at all times; his praise will always be on my lips. I will glory in the LORD; let the afflicted hear and rejoice.” David’s situation was NOW and he knew that God may not promise uninterrupted comfort but that He will meet his ultimate need!
What do you do when you have nowhere else to go? “I will bless the Lord (no better time) and His praises shall continually be in my mouth.” David had many sources but he did not utilize them but looked unto the Mighty Warrior! With children, marriage, sickness, etc. there is no better time (as previously stated) than now to invoke Him! It seems contradictory, but it’s better to suffer for well doing, than for evil acts! Whether faced with calamities or not, we should have the mindset to praise the Lord unceasingly!
I must praise the Lord! He’s been better to me than I’ve been to myself! Put in a praise before you get to the crossroads! Without a doubt, He’s a mighty Wonder-Worker and can trade one’s chains for victory! I will...I have a desire to do it...I can’t wait to commend Him!
Jehovah Jireh: Let me always have the zeal to give you glory! With You, difficulties can end and a new season shall begin! Weeping may endure for a night but joy cometh in the morning! At first, I didn’t want to say Hallelujah because I was tensed but NOW I will freely give You praise! Favor me to constantly have a broken and contrite heart! We will honor You for being on the case! We ask in Your matchless Name, Amen!
Closing: God’s Word is irresistible! It’s generously given, happily accepted, and deeply appreciated! Eld. Humphrey: Many thanks for connecting the text to everyday life! Love & prayers always!
